Zero ai: Bo does not use Ai to write, because we believe you’ve come here to speak to humans not Nvidia GPUs. That will mean that some of our language has errors, and we feel that’s a price worth paying.
The best ride I’ve ever had on an e-scooter stands out by a mile - the next best doesn't even register on the same scale - and that is out of thousands of different rides on prototypes, production vehicles and benchmarking competitors. The best I've had is a Bo ride that took place in New York City in July 2025.

We had spent the entire day filming on a pair of Bo around Manhattan Island. By 'we' I mean me and a photographer called Christian, who was tasked with creating our first ever content in North America. Christian was the sort of multi-talented individual who grips any situation and drags it to a successful outcome: it had been a great day.
My wife had also joined me for the first week of the trip, and while I was working during the day we tried to make sure that there was time to enjoy the city in the evenings.
So, having spent the entire day filming with Christian we finished in a part of New York called Dumbo - Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass - where she could meet us to grab a few last image in the evening. She arrived on the Metro from Brooklyn - slightly unsettled about all of the bizarre things she had seen underground - to help us get some content by the side of the harbour.
We caught the golden hour just as the Sun was getting low, grabbed a few last shots - and having said goodbye to Christian and his camera we went into the nearby Timeout market for a burger and a drink.

When we came out we were delighted to see both that the Bo Lock n Load system had kept our rides safe and secure (they were still parked where we left them) AND that there was still a bit of low evening light remaining for us to ride home in.
My wife has never really ridden Bo. She tried a couple of prototypes back in the early days, but because the UK cities in which we live have not yet regulated the e-scooter, she has had few opportunities to actually use one in anger. To actually get a sense of Bo you really need it to get you somewhere useful, for an actual purpose,
As such, this was her first ever opportunity to ride properly, and I will admit she approached it with some trepidation. After all, she is a surgeon and has seen the outcome from people messing up on bicycles, skateboards, one wheels - and, yes - scooters...

For me then, this was quite a high stakes ride. What would my partner think of the vehicle I have just spent five years developing..?
The real joy was the first five minutes - watching her progress from a complete novice to a confident rider in the back streets of Brooklyn was completely magical.
Despite the light fading, and despite the roads having plenty motor traffic on them, by the time we got back to our accommodation 20 minutes later she was a complete natural. Riding in front I turned back to see her smiling and enjoying the vehicle.
It was a useful reminder to me that scooters aren't just for filming and selling and building, they're also great fun. Sometimes tricky to remember that when you;'re on the coal-face of building a company every day.
Any time I ride Bo with someone I inevitably focus carefully on their enjoyment, how they position themselves / ride - and what they think about it!
However, in this instance, I will admit that having watched her get the hang of it I allowed myself to relax and just enjoy the absolute magic of riding through Brooklyn after a fun day and a good meal - with my wife - on a vehicle that I had developed and built

Best of all our ride for that day of filming had taken us all across New York - up to the Westside meatpacking district, through the centre of Manhattan Island, and then back down past Broadway and into Dumbo.
We had covered an absolutely massive distance and it involved a lot of stop-start riding while Christian framed, shot and re-shot the vehicle.
As a result, there was some concern in the back of my mind that a ride home might be stretching our battery capacity somewhat. We had definitely used a good 25-30 miles, and the embarassement of ending up pushing home together on Ab's first proper ride of a scooter would have been crushing.
As luck would have it, Bo was on side and looked after me - the last of the battery charge indicator lights only starting to flash a warning as we reached the street where we are staying.
While I do not think it’s necessarily convince my wife that scooters are her favourite vehicle, she had to admit that it has been incredibly good fun and uniquely easy to get started.
For me it was just a joyous insight to the sort of moments we're trying to create for our riders. Bo life is a good life.
