Who Is Bo Really Built For? (Spoiler: Probably You)
Luke Robus - Bo Design Director - September 2025
When we started Bo, we weren’t trying to build a scooter for everyone. We were building it for us. For real riders in real cities, who actually care what their commute feels like, who want something better, and who’ve outgrown plastic-feeling toys pretending to be road vehicles.
But as we started designing Bo - obsessing over power, control, stability, and how to make something both elite and intuitive - we realised we were solving problems that different kinds of riders had been putting up with for too long.
This post is for the people Googling:
-
“Best adult electric scooter UK 2025”
-
“Are Segway scooters worth it?”
-
“E-scooter with power for hills”
-
“Comfortable alternative to Pure, Xiaomi or Segway”
Let’s talk about the kinds of riders we built Bo for - and why, if you fall into any of these groups, you’re going to love it here.
1. The Rider Who Wants Real Comfort
If you’ve ever ridden an electric scooter with twitchy steering or rock-hard tyres, you know that “scooter comfort” is often a myth. Even the pogo-stick suspension you find on most of the Kugoos, Dualtrons and Segways actually serves to make you feel less stable, and as a result less comfortable.
At Bo, we reimagined comfort completely: we want a scooter that doesn’t just get you from A to B, but actually feels good the whole way. Our proprietary Safesteer™ geometry and Bo Monocurve chassis mean you don’t get that sketchy front-wheel wobble on rough tarmac or potholes. It’s planted, smooth, confident.
You ride it once and go: “Oh. This is how it should feel.”
2. The Power Seeker (But Not a Maniac)
We’re not building race-track scooters. That’s not our vibe (although The Turbo has clearly demonstrated not for lack of ability...) That said, we are building vehicles with serious grunt; the kind of power that flattens hills, shrugs off headwinds, and lets you accelerate like you mean business. In everyday traffic-light drag races, Bo is a force to be reckoned with.
With more torque than any other scooter in its category, hill-climbing feels easy: even when you're carrying a backpack, shopping, or your third iced oat latte of the morning. You're not dragging your feet, you're flying.
This is what we call “city power”: practical, usable, endlessly fun.
3. The All-Weather Adventurer
You ride when it rains. You ride when it’s cold. You ride when the Tube’s packed, the buses are full, and your Uber’s stuck at a standstill.
Bo is built for real life.
Our scooters are fully IP65 water resistant, with powerful visibility-first Halo lighting, and zero exposed cabling. They’re designed to survive real UK weather, not some sunny fantasy land. With battery tech tested across a range of temperatures and electronics protected against splash, spray and the occasional British monsoon, we don’t just ride in all weather; we thrive in it.
4. The Rider Who Cares About Aesthetics (and We Mean Really Cares)
Bo scooters don’t look like other scooters.
They look like something Apple would design if Apple cared about transport. They don’t fold because we wanted zero compromise to the quality or safety of your ride. Instead, we engineered a beautiful one-piece (unibody) chassis. No bolts, no flex, no clutter.
The result? A machine that turns heads, feels premium in your hands, and rides like it belongs on the road, not next to the bins outside your flat.
If you want a scooter that fits your lifestyle and your outfit, this is it.
5. The First-Time, soon to be Long-Time, Rider
Getting into scooters should feel fun, easy and exciting, not like you're being thrown on a shaky toy.
Bo comes with confidence built in as standard. Our steering design actually helps you balance at low speeds. The wide deck lets you ride stable and relaxed. And our full-width 580mm handlebars give you proper control, even on tight turns or busy streets.
And we didn’t just throw in “safety features” because a checklist told us to, we built safety into every layer of the product. From the regenerative braking to the lighting strategy to how we manage torque delivery on launch.
Because the truth is: no one should have to “grow into” their scooter. You should feel at home from ride one.
So… Who Is Bo For?
It’s for the person who’s done riding around the problems.
It’s for the rider who wants quality that feels like quality.
It’s for anyone who’s ever wished their scooter just worked better every day, every journey.
We didn’t set out to build a scooter for every rider. We set out to build the best one for the ones who care.
And maybe… that’s you?
