The Bristol-based e-scooter company Bo has chosen Ireland as the first international destination to launch its innovative Bo M e-scooter. Founded by two former top-flight motorsports engineers, the firm’s e-scooter features halo lighting so the rider can be seen from all angles, and Safesteer, a unique stabilisation system for the front wheel that makes for safer riding in all weather.

In 2024, the Irish government passed the Road Traffic and Roads Act 2023, creating a new vehicle class for e-scooters and legalising their use on public roads from May 2024.

“While the UK sadly lags behind much of the world in legalising the use of e-scooters on the public roads, Ireland has taken that exciting first step in embracing a new era in how we travel through cities such as Dublin,” says Oscar Morgan, co-founder and chief executive of Bo. “With production of the Bo M now in full flow, we are excited to announce Dublin as our first direct expansion into an international market.”

The Bo M is available to order for €2,349 at bo.world. See them up close at Lifty Electrics, 157 Capel Street, Dublin; lifty.co
